About Scholars’ Harbour

Scholars’ Harbour offers supportive 11+ preparation for the Kent Test, alongside KS3 and GCSE tuition in English and History. Based in Tankerton, our six-lesson 11+ Mastery Course brings children together in groups of no more than six, with 1:1 tuition available for more individual support. Clear explanations, guided practice and independent tasks help learners build skills and confidence, one step at a time.

The founder and lead tutor

I’m Caroline, an English and History tutor with many years of teaching and tutoring experience and a PGCE from the University of Oxford. My background includes KS3, GCSE and A-Level teaching, school leadership, and supporting SEND learners.

At Scholars’ Harbour, I bring that experience to calm, structured tuition shaped around each child. Our 11+ course uses clear modelling, guided practice, retrieval and fresh independent tasks to develop selected Kent Test skills. In 1:1 sessions, we can focus more closely on individual gaps and goals.

I value creativity, clear feedback and strong communication with families, helping children understand their next steps and feel confident asking questions.
