SEND & home education tuition

Every learner deserves to feel understood, encouraged and challenged. We offer personalised tuition in Tankerton, Whitstable, and online, welcoming families from Herne Bay, Canterbury and across Kent.

Support shaped around your child

Our founder and lead tutor, Caroline, has 15 years of teaching experience, including school leadership, alongside private tuition. Her extensive experience supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND, also called SEN) spans mainstream education and private tutoring, including learners needing flexible tuition outside their usual school timetable.

We begin by listening: what does your child enjoy, what feels difficult and what would you like tuition to help them achieve? We draw on that conversation and their starting point to adapt explanations, pace, practice and challenge. Support might include breaking a task into smaller steps, modelling a method, using visual prompts or allowing more time to think. We check understanding and adjust as we learn more about the learner.

Warmth and high expectations belong together. We aim to build confidence and independence while making room for questions, creativity and meaningful challenge.

Home education and home-schooling support

Families educating at home can enquire about focused subject tuition alongside their own education plans. We can discuss primary learning, 11+ preparation, KS3 English and History, and GCSE English and History, agreeing the subject focus and goals before booking.

Daytime 1:1 tuition is available from 4 January 2027, Monday–Thursday around group sessions. Evening 1:1 tuition is available Monday–Thursday, 4–8pm. Sessions may be in Tankerton, at home or online, with arrangements agreed individually. Please enquire about the suitability and availability of home education groups.

Choosing the right setting

One-to-one tuition gives us space to pause, revisit an idea and follow an individual pace. Our six-lesson 11+ Mastery groups have a maximum of six learners and opportunities to share ideas. We will discuss which option fits your child’s needs rather than assume one format suits everyone.
